At Jax-Dining.com, people are able to browse thousands of restaurants by name , neighborhood, cuisine, prices, and menus. In addition to its search engine, Jax-Dining.com is unique because of its other content, such as independent restaurant reviews, weekly updates on restaurant activity in the area, and recipes. The site also posts information and links to other restaurant sites, as well as on popular social networks such as Twitter and Facebook.
“When Jax-Dining.com launched the concept one year ago, we were not sure how people and restaurants would respond,” said Izzy Tahil, the creator and owner of the site. “We knew that there were no other restaurant sites in Jacksonville that were as comprehensive or technologically dynamic as Jax-Dining.com. We didn’t know if people and restaurants would embrace the concept, but 12 months later, we’re proud to say that our website traffic has exceeded our projections.
“We are now receiving close to 200,000 hits a month,” Tahil says “and growing steadily. Our goal has always been to provide our readers with useful information. People have really spread the word and are helping us maintain quality content. We also strive to promote all Jacksonville area restaurants, from mom-and-pops diners to multi-million dollar operations. Every restaurant is listed on the website - whether or not someone can afford it,” he adds with a smile.
“We are the leading restaurant site for locals and out-of-town visitors alike,” Tahil said.

“We are unaware of any other website, local or national, that is like ours,” Tahil says. Our hope was to provide visitors with a one-stop website that they could go to and find everything they need, from the latest restaurants to reading suggestions on what to cook for dinner. And so far, the website has done just that and will continue to add content to improve the user experience.”
